Therefore, I asked myself ; "Can Brain Gym® be an aid to language learning for pupils in primary school? What could teachers do to make all students improve during courses ? What could teachers establish to create a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom ? Which techniques and activities could teachers adapt to maximise students' attention and interest in learning ? ” My initial research on this question focuses on the difficulties and aids that pupils face during their school life, as well as the importance of movements in school. This dissertation will be on the presentation of the importance of Brain Gym® in class, a method based on movements. It is considered as an efficient way of improving the learning process. It also offers some activities and some attitudes that teachers should adapt in order to enhance the willingness and the comfort to learn. Moreover, it explains the impact of the three dimensions of movements and benefits on the cognitive aspect. In order to get to grips with the method, I was also trained for a day. I wrote this dissertation mainly by reading articles, books and reports. In addition, I created a notebook and a grid so I can analyse the teacher, the students and myself by practising Brain Gym® in primary school. Domaine pédagogique Année de publication : 2022 Collection : TFE numérique LM Importance : 1 vol. (70 f.) Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : jeu (loisirs) jeu éducatif jeu de société acquisition de connaissances apprentissage d'une langue seconde Index. décimale : 811.111 Anglais Résumé : The use of board games as a tool to initiate vocabulary acquisition was the primary emphasis of this research, which was also focused on the teaching system in Wallonia within primary and secondary education. Vocabulary is the key to communication. After noticing that the study of language could be a source of boredom for some students, we pondered the various ways in which it could be made more appealing to younger students. What do teenagers enjoy doing regularly? In what way may board games contribute to their overall education? Would board games get students over the monotony of vocabulary learning and make it more efficient? We attempted to find the answers to these questions by carrying out studies in a few different groups over the course of four to five weeks. We began by orienting the students through the various board games that would be used, and we followed that up by conducting a survey. We wanted to learn more about their profile, their motivations, and so on. In addition, we thought it would be interesting to solicit feedback from experienced teachers by having them respond to another survey. Following all of these lines of inquiry, we arrived at the conclusion that board games could be of considerable use within the educational system, but they needed support to be organised thoroughly. Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : film série télévisée fiction télévisée apprentissage d'une langue seconde Index. décimale : 811.111 Anglais Résumé : In this article, we focus on the use of films and series in language teaching, and the benefits of their use from a didactic, linguistic, and cultural point of view. Films and series are part of our everyday lives and represent a wide range of themes, enabling language teachers to make varied and innovative use of these media throughout the year. We began by focusing on these film media's theoretical and didactic aspects, looking at the different ways of retaining information. Then we explained how the seventh art can be beneficial and interesting, not only by addressing the characteristics and skills of the language course but also by making links with previous experiences. The motivational aspect was also addressed. Finally, in the practical part, we highlighted our experience of the placement and the results obtained from surveys carried out on the subject. We also explained our plan to incorporate film into the language course we had set up.
