I had different teachers in secondary school who used music as a way to relax before holidays and I wanted to see if songs could be used in everyday lessons. I focused on the listening skill and the auditory memory seeing that songs are an auditory message. I also searched information about the musical and linguistic intelligence for the link between music and memory. To illustrate the theoretical part, I set up some activities linked with different topics. I used grammar exercises in song’s lyrics before a teaching unit or at the end of a unit to check the pupils’ knowledge and I took some examples of activities made by my mentor, Mrs Antinoro.
